Barclay Friends Fire

On behalf of the members of Good Fellowship Ambulance, we send thoughts of sympathy and offers of support to the residents, staff, and families affected by the tragic fire at Barclay Friends Thursday evening. Good Fellowship stands with you as a community partner and a friend.

Just before 11pm on Thursday, Good Fellowship, along with the West Chester Fire Department, were dispatched to Barclay Friends for reports of smoke inside the building. Police officers from the West Chester Borough Police Department arrived first, finding fire and smoke conditions in the building. Through the early minutes of this tragedy, it became quickly apparent that a mass evacuation was beginning with several of the evacuees found to be injured. All Good Fellowship assets and supervisory staff, along with EMS resources from all over southeastern Pennsylvania and Delaware, responded to the scene or nearby staging locations to treat and transport those affected.

Through the course of the night, we saw the heroism and bravery of the first responders, Barclay Friends staff, and members of the community. Their exceptional teamwork contributed to the successful evacuation of over 160 residents and employees. Through cooperative collaboration with partners and other local facilities, all residents were able to be housed safely within hours.

I could not be more proud of the dedicated men and women of Good Fellowship that exemplify the mission and values of our organization, this day and every day.

Sincerely,
Kimberly Holman
Executive Director
