 Listed below are several American Heart Association CPR and/or First Aid courses offered at Good Fellowship. Please review the courses to determine which is best for you. Courses are scheduled periodically however may be canceled due to lack of enrollment. If a course is canceled the student will be contacted. All persons are required to complete the skills associated with each course to pass.

Course:

HeartCode ACLS On-Line Part 1

 

Course Length:

Self-directed eLearning program lets students train at their own pace  

Course Description:

An alternative to traditional, classroom-based ACLS training, the self-directed HeartCode(TM) ACLS eLearning program uses eSimulation technology to let students participate in realistic patient scenarios, assess patients, and formulate treatment -- online and at their own pace. As they train, an evaluation mechanism and intelligent debriefing provide students with immediate and objective feedback on whether their actions were correct or incorrect, and offer suggestions for improvement. Other features include the ability to treat multiple rhythms (megacode) in the same scenario; a new respiratory arrest case; a new code clock; a team dynamics lesson; a precourse self-assessment that helps students gauge their knowledge of ECG recognition and pharmacology; access to patient scenarios and text material for up to two years; and the full text (in PDF form) of the ACLS Provider Manual, the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines For CPR And ECC, and the ACLS Core Drugs reference guide.

 

Audience:

For advanced healthcare providers such as paramedics, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses and respiratory therapists who must have a credential card documenting successful completion of a CPR course.

 

Card Type:

Advanced Cardiac Life Support Course Completion Card: expect to receive the card 4-6 weeks following completion of the course.  2 year certification.

Course Length:

Self-directed eLearning program lets students train at their own pace  in the comfort of your own environment. Once completed, you will schedule a brief period of time to complete the skill segment of the course selected with the training institute staff.

Course Description:

Course:
ACLS Refresher for Healthcare Providers
Course Length:
8.0 hours
Course Description:
Providers will enhance their skills in treating adult victims of cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies.  This course emphasizes the:

• importance of basic life support CPR to patient survival
• integration of effective basic life support with ACLS interventions
• importance of effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation

The course includes simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation through learning stations where students practice essential skills individually, as part of a team, and as team leader.
Audience:

For healthcare providers working in emergency treatment, intensive care or critical care, and other professionals who may need to respond to a cardiovascular emergency.

Card Type:

American Heart Association ACLS for Healthcare Providers Course Completion Card valid for two years.

In the classroom, students engage in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA ACLS Instructor to complete ACLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam.

BLS for Healthcare Providers

 

Course Length:

Course Description:

BLS for Healthcare Providers covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction, and automated external defibrillation.

 

Audience:

For healthcare providers such as EMS personnel, physician assistants, doctors, dentists, nurses and respiratory therapists who must have a credential card documenting successful completion of a CPR course.

 

Card Type:

BLS for Healthcare Providers Course Completion Card: expect to receive the card 4-6 weeks following completion of the course.  2 year certification.

Course Description:

The Heartsaver AED Course teaches CPR, AED use, relief of choking in adults and children, infant CPR and relief of choking, and use of barrier devices for all ages.

 

Audience:

For general public and occupations such as massage therapists, adult daycare providers and others that require a credential.

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid

Course Length:

Course Description:

The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid Course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in a child in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.  Topics include First Aid Basics, Medical Emergencies, Injury Emergencies and Environmental Emergencies.

 

Audience:

For those involved in child care who have a duty to respond to a first aid emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, such as child care workers, teachers, camp counselors, youth organizations and coaches for children's sports organizations and the general public.

 

Card Type:

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid Course Completion Card: expect to receive the card 4-6 weeks following completion of the course.  2 year certification.
